Boy Scout Troop 4070 Letchworth Patch Fundraiser!

The Boy Scouts of Geneseo Troop 4070 have created a collectible Scout patch by Keith Walters featuring a panorama with the Letchworth Gorge, a hot air balloon, and the new Portageville Arch Bridge. The Troop is selling them as a fundraiser for $10 each at Little Lake Brewing, 5857 Big Tree Rd, Lakeville, NY 14480 or email geneseoboyscouts@gmail.com.

The patch is 2 inches tall and 4 inches wide with a small loop on the top center for attaching to a pocket button of a Scouting uniform. The background is laser printed and has detailed embroidery detailing the hot air balloon and reads “Letchworth State Park New York”.

All proceeds will be used to attend the National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Preserve in West Virginia from July 19-28, 2023. Geneseo BSA Troop 4070 has ten Scouts and three adult leaders attending the Jamboree.

SHARING HISTORY

The patch is a fundraiser and a calling card. “Scouts have always celebrated special events with patches. We will see and trade patches from around the country and around the world at the Jamboree,” says Troop 4070 Scoutmaster Bryan French. This will be French’s forth Scout Jamboree. He attended his first Jamboree as a youth leader and has returned three times as an adult leader. “Keith took an amazing photo. It has our world-famous state park, hot air balloons, and the iconic Genesee Arch Bridge. We hope it will start conversations among Scouts and generate interest in future visits to our area,” said John Rutigliano, Scout Parent Committee Chair.
